Feeding Habits

The Glossy Ibis, like its relative
the White Ibis, feeds by probing with its long downcurved bill. It
is found at edges of fresh, brackish, and salt water areas. Crayfish,
grasshoppers, snakes, fish, and other insects and invertebrates are eaten
by the ibis. Glossy Ibises are sometimes robbed of their prey by Boat-tailed
Grackles, who swarm the ibis until it drops its food.
