The Snowy Egret is
a very active bird that uses many different techniques to catch its
prey. Although its legs are black, it has large yellow feet. It
uses these feet as rakes to stir up food from the bottom of the water
and to scare its prey. It may also vibrate its bill in the water
to attract fish. It runs, hops, or walks through the water and
eats fish, snakes, crabs, insects, and other small invertebrates.
