Descriptive Information
  • Field marks: "Petals 4 or 5, large, yellow. Flowers showy, solitary, in the upper leaf axils. Sepals 4 or 5, lanceolate. Stamens 8. Seed capsule short, thick. Leaves alternate, ovate, lanceolate to elliptic, entire, hairy, sessile or nearly so. Plant often shrubby, herbaceous primarily, branched, densely hairy."
